Parker is among the national leaders in managing and treating the full range of clinical problems for people at all stages of dementia. This includes assessments, medical and medication management, dental treatment, and management of behaviors associated with dementia.
The Granat Alzheimer's Center at Parker is a unique day care program that provides sensitivity and stimulation for participants as well as relief and support for families. It is located in a beautiful, safe environment on the lower level of Parker Jewish Institute's main building in New Hyde Park.
Our experienced professionals provide guidance and support to help family members cope with the challenging problems faced by family caregivers.
We provide many special services for participants, including bathing, grooming and other personal care services. In addition, a plentiful, hot lunch is served, and special diets, consistent with the clinical requirements of each participant, can also be accommodated.
The Granat Alzheimer's Center is a flexible drop-in service, open six days a week, Monday to Friday, 7 AM to 7 PM as well as Saturdays and holidays, 9 AM to 5 PM. Schedules may be customized to meet the needs of caregivers.
The Center accepts private pay. Long term care insurance will often reimburse families.*
