Nechama

Comfort at the End of Life, in the Jewish Tradition

A program of the Landsberg Comprehensive Community Hospice, "Nechama" provides hospice care in a manner that is profoundly sensitive to the Jewish way of life. Under the guidance of a respected rabbinic authority, Nechama offers a comprehensive range of medical, therapeutic and spiritual services.

The Nechama Hospice Program offers modalities such as tube feedings for persons with dysphagia, IV hydration, and antibiotics. Other Nechama features that meet the needs of the Jewish patient and family include: a Halachically acceptable "living will"; the opportunity for Viduy (confession before death); strict observance of dietary and modesty laws, prayer, Shabbos and Yom Tov; and Jewish pastoral care.

For further information about Nechama, Parker's Jewish Hospice Program, please call Rabbi David Kaye at 718-289-2279.

"From the first phone call, to the daily care, to the words of support and guidance, Parker's hospice program gave us and mom kindness and caring at the most difficult of times. You are truly angels."
