Parker Institute offers highly specialized sub-acute care to patients who no longer require hospitalization but do need additional treatment before going home. Individuals can receive medical-surgical treatment or enter a rehabilitation therapy program. All short-term care is designed to help patients recover and return home as soon as possible.
Sub-Acute Medical-Surgical Care
Professional expertise combined with advanced technology enables Parker to provide sub-acute care with near-hospital capabilities. Staff members include physicians and a cardiac emergency response team who are on duty 24 hours a day. Trained health care professionals treat complex medical problems resulting from surgery or brain injuries. Chemotherapy for cancer patients, I.V. therapy, pain management, wound management and tracheotomies are available.
The usual length of stay for patients is from five to eight days.
Sub-Acute Reh abilitation
The Sub-Acute Rehabilitation Program is designed for patients recovering from a cardiac condition or stroke, fractures, amputations, hip or knee replacements, etc., or those who are coping with arthritis. Using state-of-the-art equipment, rehabilitation therapists provide physical therapy and other services to help individuals maximize function and regain independence.
A patients typical stay ranges from two to six weeks.
