Parker's Gardening Club

On Friday, June 2, 2023, Parker’s Therapeutic Recreation Department hosted its first, outdoor Gardening Club event of the year.

Gardening is a great therapeutic activity, that reduces stress and anxiety, as well as improves fine motor skills. Our patients/residents, wearing sunscreen and their fashionable straw hats, planted wild flowers, basil, parsley, tomatoes, eggplant and watermelon. Parker’s ambitious gardeners will have the opportunity to go outside, throughout the summer, tend to their garden and see their seeds spring to life.
