A Memorable Crochet Workshop at Parker

Monday, August 24, 2026

Patients and residents at the Parker Jewish Institute enjoyed a crochet workshop led by students from P177Q on Monday, August 10, 2026, under the supervision of a trained facilitator. Supplied with premade kits containing everything they needed to make a crocheted bag, participants selected flowers and accent pieces to personalize their projects.

Crocheting can offer therapeutic benefits. The repetitive motion of stitching may help reduce stress and lower cortisol levels. Crocheting engages the mind, requiring participants to focus, follow patterns and learn the intricate stitchwork needed to bring their designs to life. The crocheters thoroughly enjoyed the workshop and were delighted with their one-of-a-kind bags.
