A Parker Patient Spotlight: Sophie Wroblewski
Monday, June 8, 2026

At the Parker Jewish Institute, our dedicated team members work tirelessly to deliver superior quality health care and rehabilitation in a compassionate, uplifting environment. Residents and patients benefit from an approach that honors their culture, traditions, values and comfort as they strive toward their highest possible level of health and independence.
Sophie Wroblewski was admitted to Parker on Tuesday, April 7, 2026, for treatment of a bacterial infection that left her immobile from the waist down. Diagnosed with Meige disease, a rare genetic disorder that causes chronic swelling in the lower body, Sophie feared that she would never regain her strength. Within two weeks of treatment, however, the swelling in Sophie’s leg had decreased by half, and she could walk again. Sophie credits her success to the round-the-clock care provided at Parker. She received specialized treatment that included careful cleaning and massage of the affected area with a healing cream, which reduced swelling and supported her recovery.
Sophie is grateful to Parker’s entire staff, who helped her accomplish more than she thought possible. Today, Sophie is enjoying a level of health and mobility she has not experienced in a long time. She can walk more than five feet without getting tired and go up and down stairs comfortably. With continued success, Sophie hopes to regain her independence, and looks forward to resuming everyday activities, such as walking through the garden center with her family, or making a quick run to BJ’s.
The Parker Jewish Institute is grateful that Sophie entrusted us with her care. Sophie’s accomplishments are truly inspiring, and we applaud her resilience, determination and strength. Sophie was discharged from Parker on Thursday, June 4, 2026, and the Parker team will continue to champion her ongoing achievements as she continues her journey toward greater health and independence.
