The Parker Jewish Institute Celebrates Flag Day

Monday, June 15, 2026

America’s Semiquincentennial is quickly approaching, and patriotism is in full swing at the Parker Jewish Institute. In celebration of Flag Day, Parker patients and residents enthusiastically created watercolor masterpieces with the vibrant colors of red, white and blue.

Flag Day is an annual American holiday celebrated on June 14 and commemorates the adoption of the U.S. Flag by the Second Continental Congress in 1777. The holiday was first recognized by President Woodrow Wilson in 1916 and was officially established by Congress in 1949 through legislation signed by President Harry Truman.
