The Parker Jewish Institute Celebrates Rosh Hashanah

The Parker Jewish Institute observed Rosh Hashanah, from sundown on Monday, September 22, 2025, until nightfall on Wednesday, September 24, 2025. Ushering in the Jewish New Year, Rosh Hashanah is the first of the High Holy Days and begins the Ten Days of Repentance, concluding with Yom Kippur, Judaism’s holiest day of the year.

At Parker, Rosh Hashanah services included the sounding of the shofar, in keeping with Torah tradition. Residents, patients and their families and friends celebrated the holiday together, enjoying such symbolic foods as apples and honey, to wish for a sweet new year.
