Celebrating Diwali at the Parker Jewish Institute
Monday, November 24, 2025

The Parker Jewish Institute’s recent Diwali celebration marked a joyous spiritual victory. This uplifting occasion honored light over darkness, good over evil and knowledge over ignorance. Considered the biggest festival in Indian culture, Diwali brings communities together in celebration with lights, music and dance.
At Parker, the Diwali celebration began with prayer and reflection. A diverse gathering of residents, friends and family enjoyed a lineup of lively performances. Mukta Kohli, Parker’s talented cultural liaison, delivered several musical numbers that had audience members singing and dancing. Three gifted Gidda dancers, performing a traditional Punjabi folk dance, took center stage, while a dhol player’s vibrant drum work never missed a beat. The festivity reached its peak when 17 of Parker’s Indian Cultural Unit residents sang in perfect unison, holding up lights and dancing, captivating the audience.
Parker’s Indian Cultural Committee and Unit, as always, helped host a spectacular celebration.
